OVERVIEW

Organised by the Global Earthquake Model (GEM) Foundation and hosted by the Arab Centre for the Prevention of Earthquake Hazards and Other Natural Disasters (ACPEND), this training offers a unique opportunity to acquire skills in using the OpenQuake Engine for seismic hazard and risk assessment. Targeting specialists from the 22-member states of the Arab League, the training will include both theoretical sessions and practical applications using regional models. It aims to strengthen local capacities in the Arab region by providing open-source tools and state-of-the-art models tailored for the region. Participants will gain insights into both fundamental and advanced concepts in hazard and risk analysis.
